There are several regular yoga classes in the Teign Valley. Those for which we’ve received details are listed here. The What’s On calendar may show more.

Yoga with Jan Williamson 

Mondays 7pm – 8.30pm in the Teign Valley Community Hall: This yoga class is open to everyone – of all ages and abilities. Beginners are very welcome. The classes include yoga asanas (postures), breathing and relaxation techniques. The tutor Jan has been teaching for many years and her focus is to make yoga enjoyable, relevant and appropriate for everyone. Abi Higgins 

Abi offers both yoga and pilates: Pilates is on Friday mornings 9.30am-10.30am in the Teign Valley Community Hall. Anyone is welcome as the class is mixed abilities. Pilates is very beneficial for both men and women. If you are getting over an injury or have just had a baby, Pilates will aid your recovery. Pilates strengthens your core muscles, increases flexibility, improves co-ordination, alignment and breathing. Get strong from the inside out. Abi teaches Yoga stretch online on Thursday evenings from 6.30-7.30pm. The class is open to anyone and is mixed abilities. Stretching improves posture by lengthening the muscles and yoga asana strengthen and stretch at the same time helping to build a strong mobile body. ​Abi is a fully qualified Yin Yoga teacher with the Yoga academy, a Stott Pilates teacher and has Reps level 3 accreditation. She also has a BScHon degree in Sport and Exercise science and 36 years of teaching experience.

Yin Yoga with Kitty McCrea

Fridays 5pm to 6pm in Bridford Village Hall.  Yin Yoga targets the deep connective tissues in the body to maintain and improve flexibility and mobility.  This is a friendly and inclusive class with lots of options to suit everybody.  Kitty is a British Wheel of Yoga trained teacher with 20 + years of experience and additional specialist training in Yin Yoga.  New students are always welcome if there is space in the class.  For more information contact her at [email protected] or visit

Vinyasa yoga with Kate Lowman

Tuesdays Evenings 7.40-9pm in the Teign Valley Community Hall. A dynamic flowing style of yoga that synchronises movement with breath through a series of taught sequences. This small friendly class is mixed ability and suitable for all levels with an emphasis on fitting yoga positions to each individual regardless of their level of fitness or flexibility. The flowing style helps create a sense of a ‘moving meditation’ to help release tension and re-energise the body while creating a sense of calm and relaxation.
